Yello Juice Bar: PapaMango Madness!
We’re kick-starting the WongaGyal x Yello Media Juice Bar with some familiar tropical flavours that are vibrant and naturally sweet, as well as a celebration of mango being back in “early season”!
With the majority of COVID-19 restrictions being lifted here in Jamaica, of course, we are excited to get out there and go back to normal. Seeing as COVID-19 still lingers, though, it wouldn’t hurt to give your immune system a little boost. And what better way to do that than a delicious, refreshing, all-natural beverage?
On that note, papayas and mangoes, in particular, are brimming with immunity-boosting properties.
Both mango and papaya are rich in antioxidants such as vitamin A, C and E, as well as carotenoids, and the like. Interestingly studies show that papaya is even richer in lycopene, a carotenoid, than carrots.
They also both contain significant anti-inflammatory properties and promote a healthy digestive system. This is all further supplemented by the powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of gingerol, found in ginger (which also gives the juice a nice kick).
The best part about this recipe is there are no added sugars, no preservatives, just fruit, water and a lot of love.
- 1 medium Papaya
- 1 medium mango (or 2 small mangoes)
- 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
- 1 Lime
- 1 cup of Water
Cut papaya and mango into chunks. Add fruit into a blender along with ginger, the juice of the lime and water. Strain with a fine-mesh sieve and enjoy!
