Yello Juice Bar: Lime-Melon-Ade

Summer is here & things are heating up

During summer, the rise in temperature often leaves us miserable, sticky and dehydrated.  Did you know that dehydration is one of the biggest health concerns during summer?  To combat the heat from the sun, our bodies naturally release water to keep our skin cool (that’s sweat), But as we’re keeping our bodies cool, we’re losing some of that water too. Here’s a recipe to help keep you cool and hydrated this summer!

Cue the watermelon.

Watermelon is made up of 92% water, which means that adding it to your diet is a great way to mix up your water intake – especially for those who don’t love drinking water. You’ll see just how much water is in watermelon because we don’t add any water in this recipe! Limeade is a Jamaican summer staple. It’s a great source of Vitamin C, and antioxidants and has even been shown to exhibit some anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer benefits. Why haven’t we thought of mixing the two earlier?
